Patches submitted to netdev should be against net-next. Before you
submit a version which gets merged, you need to update. Please mark
all submissions until then as RFC in the Subject line.

Yes, I'm aware of that requirement - another reason for the RFC tag. If 
I submit v2 (or vN) sans RFC, you will know that it's been built and 
tested against net-next, so no worries.
