It seems this local helper is only called from code compiled when
CONFIG_NET_RX_BUSY_POLL
is set.

Not sure why you need an #ifdef here.

I'll move this down to be within CONFIG_NET_RX_BUSY_POLL and get rid of the
#ifdef for the v7.
