I forgot to use "Reply All" in my previous message, so I am resending this to ensure the mailing lists are properly included. Thank you for your feedback and for pointing out the issues. You are absolutely right. My previous submission was a mistake; it was generated from within an OpenWrt build tree instead of the upstream Linux repository, which resulted in incorrect paths and redundant files being included. I also missed the guidelines regarding the imperative mood and line wrapping in the commit message. I have now cloned the upstream torvalds/linux tree and created a clean v2 patch. The commit message has been rewritten properly, and the patch now only introduces the dts file in the correct arch/powerpc/boot/dts/fsl/ path, along with the necessary Makefile and vendor-prefixes.yaml additions. I ran checkpatch.pl on the new patch (it reports 0 errors; the remaining warnings are mostly about undocumented compatible strings for older chips, which I hope are acceptable). Please find the v2 patch attached. Let me know if any further adjustments are needed. This commit adds initial device tree support for the WatchGuard Firebox T30Please do not use "This commit/patch/change", but imperative mood. See longer explanation here: https://elixir.bootlin.com/linux/v6.16/source/Documentation/process/submitting-patches.rst#L94 Please wrap commit message according to Linux coding style / submission process (neither too early nor over the limit): https://elixir.bootlin.com/linux/v6.4-rc1/source/Documentation/process/submitting-patches.rst#L597 Please run scripts/checkpatch.pl on the patches and fix reported warnings. After that, run also 'scripts/checkpatch.pl --strict' on the patches and (probably) fix more warnings. Some warnings can be ignored, especially from --strict run, but the code here looks like it needs a fix. Feel free to get in touch if the warning is not clear.quoted
