Hi, I'll add some noise to this. I have a PowerMac8600 (with a 750GX in it (in case that makes a difference)) and I can't boot 2.6.36 if it is compiled with a gcc version newer than 4.1.2. Both 4.2.4 and 4.3.5 will hang. 4.1.2 seems ok. kevin
