Enablng Backside Cache on a G4

Hi,

I have recently (as of this morning) become the proud owner of a G4
(AGP).

I've been reading through the G4 related threads on linuxppc-dev and
found the one about enabling the backside cache on a G4.

The last set of messages that I saw seemed to indicate that the
responsibility for setting up the cache has moved into the kernel from
the older GrabG3CacheSetting program that needs to be run for G3 based
machines.

What is the current procedure for setting up the cache on a G4?

And what kernel version should I be running to get the best
stability/performance out of the machine?
