CPiA usb camera

has anyone on this list experimented with the CPiA usb cameras under linux? i haven't gotten to the point that i can try openh323 yet, but when i try to run xawtv it reports open /dev/video: Cannot allocate memory this is using xawtv 2.43, rsync-paul kernel on a bronze pb.
