OMG...  I did not realize what tp_printk() was exactly.  I should have
looked closer.

I would love to not have to revert/respin,

The revert is for 2 non-trivial fixes needed in one new feature, lets
just circle back and get it right for v6.9. The tp_printk() was not the
final straw for me.
