Taking a quick look at the git log I don't see any particular style. Blurb
from the first screen of a git log command...

$ git log --pretty=format:'%s' 441388a8a~1..91a25e463

The more accurate will be to perform this check on
drivers/infiniband/core and not on other subsystem.

Should there be any preference one way or the other?

But anyway, I'm not asking to submit changes in one specific style or
another. I'm asking to preserve *one* style in patch series submitted.
