RE: raid 5 catastrophy

Hummmmmmm.....

Were the disks successfully added to the wrong array?
Are they spares? Or are they in-use?
What type of array is it? Like RAID5 or RAID1.
Have you removed the disks from the wrong array?
Does your RAIDTAB have?
oersustebt-superblock	1
or
persistent-superblock 1

If the wrong array is RAID5 and the disks are not spares, then some of the
data was over-written. If the disks were just spares, then I think only the
superblock was changed, if it had one!

I will attempt help after you answer the questions.

Hello,

I haven't received a response on this. Does it not
make sense or is the answer so obvious that it doesn't
deserve an answer. :) I appreciate any light someone
can shed on this problem.

Thanks!

I made a mistake on a raid 5 array. I accidentally
tried to raidhotadd 2 of the 3 drives from the
raid
5 array into another array. Now the two partitions
FROM the raid 5 think they are part of the other
array. The raidtab for the array is:

raiddev /dev/md4
raid-level 5
nr-raid-disks 3
chuck-size 64k
oersustebt-superblock	1
nr-spare-disks 0
device /dev/hda2
raid-disk 0
device /dev/hdb2
raid-disk 1
device /dev/hdc2
raid-disk 2

Ultimately, the raid5 array is broken. It won't
start
because it only has one good disk to its name right
now. How can I fix this? I assume the data on the
other two drives is still intact (bad assumption?)

Thanks for the help!
