[PATCH 2/4] mm: add new mmget() helper
From: Vegard Nossum <hidden>
Date: 2016-12-16 09:46:56
Also in:
lkml
Subsystem:
exec & binfmt api, elf, kernel virtual machine (kvm), memory management, memory management - core, memory management - swap, scheduler, superh, synopsys arc architecture, tensilica xtensa port (xtensa), the rest · Maintainers:
Kees Cook, Paolo Bonzini, Andrew Morton, David Hildenbrand, Chris Li, Kairui Song, Ingo Molnar, Peter Zijlstra, Juri Lelli, Vincent Guittot, Yoshinori Sato, Rich Felker, John Paul Adrian Glaubitz, Vineet Gupta, Chris Zankel, Max Filippov, Linus Torvalds
Apart from adding the helper function itself, the rest of the kernel is converted mechanically using: git grep -l 'atomic_inc.*mm_users' | xargs sed -i 's/atomic_inc(&\(.*\)->mm_users);/mmget\(\1\);/' git grep -l 'atomic_inc.*mm_users' | xargs sed -i 's/atomic_inc(&\(.*\)\.mm_users);/mmget\(\&\1\);/' This is needed for a later patch that hooks into the helper, but might be a worthwhile cleanup on its own.
