UEI's XMP protocol for one, IIRC. UEI are the folks that sell/make "OneForALL" branded remotes. You can read about their patents' remaining lifetimes in this March 2010 SEC filing: http://www.faqs.org/sec-filings/100315/UNIVERSAL-ELECTRONICS-INC_10-K/ 1 to 18 years - that includes the ones they just bought from Zilog. That is not to say that all those patents cover protocols. Regards, Andy
