We're planning to hook up an ARM running Linux to a DSP that has a video (NTSC) output. We'd like to develop a framebuffer driver that displays on the TV. However, there's no shared memory between the ARM and the DSP so we're planning on using I/O to move data between the two processors. Questions: - Does something like this exist? I'd like to look at some source to gauge the complexity. - Can we know when to shovel the data from the ARM to the DSP? (Similar question asked in another thread, I'll follow that too) - Is there a "null" framebuffer driver which simply provides the interface to apps but doesn't actually do anything with the pixels? Seems like that would be a good place to start. If not, which simple driver should I look at to get an in-depth understanding of how this stuff works?
