It'd definitely be best to involve James Simmons in this - he's the
maintainer for fbcon, and, since the drivers are in framebuffer display

     I would like to see this as well. At present the core api is 
finished. Of course it is possible to add other stuff as long as it 
doesn't require us changing a bunch of drivers that wouldn't support it.
