[RFC 1/1] ext4: Optimize ext4 DAX overwrites

From: Ritesh Harjani <hidden>
Date: 2020-08-20 11:37:21
Also in: linux-fsdevel, lkml
Subsystem: ext4 file system, filesystems (vfs and infrastructure), the rest · Maintainers: "Theodore Ts'o", Alexander Viro, Christian Brauner, Linus Torvalds

Currently in case of DAX, we are starting a transaction
everytime for IOMAP_WRITE case. This can be optimized
away in case of an overwrite (where the blocks were already
allocated). This could give a significant performance boost
for multi-threaded random writes.
