[PATCH v2 11/16] clocksource/arm_arch_timer: Drop unnecessary ISB on CVAL programming

From: Marc Zyngier <maz@kernel.org>
Date: 2021-09-22 21:27:02
Also in: lkml
Subsystem: arm architected timer driver, arm port, arm64 port (aarch64 architecture), the rest · Maintainers: Mark Rutland, Marc Zyngier, Russell King, Catalin Marinas, Will Deacon, Linus Torvalds

Switching from TVAL to CVAL has a small drawback: we need an ISB
before reading the counter. We cannot get rid of it, but we can
instead remove the one that comes just after writing to CVAL.

This reduces the number of ISBs from 3 to 2 when programming
the timer.
