the most current patch is -- best check the LKML archives for that.

Interesting. Over here (dell inspiron 9300, pentium M) it doesn't quite
work, in the contrary, with the mechanism enabled, it consumes more
power (default 3:15, with patch enabled 2:55 hours). I have no clue what
causes this...
