Re: Battery Oops - more information

From: Matthew Tippett <hidden>

Further to this email, who would be the best person to discuss this with to come to a resolution which is already affecting a number of people on this list?

Andrew? (Although you seem to busy trying to get the latest ACPI into 2.4.21)

Regards,

Matthew

A little bit more research yeilds, that it is only when the battery is in when the oops occurs.

System is

    Dell i8200/BIOS A7/two batteries/Debian/2.4.20 - from debian

Modprobe works.

    # modprobe battery
ACPI: Battery Slot [BAT0] (battery absent)
ACPI: Battery Slot [BAT1] (battery absent)

So that worked.

Lots more below, so I will finish the body of the email here. I have attached my dsdt (since that seems to be the norm). If there is anything else that I can do, give me an email.

Matt
