I backup my $HOME using git, so there's a .git directory in ~.Then it should be called ~/.gitconfig. :-)
No, make it .gitrc for compatibility with .cvsrc, .lynxrc and others. I know, it's becoming a bikeshed issue :-) -- Regards, Pavel Roskin
