Merge ipt_LOG and ip6t_LOG

From: Richard Weinberger <richard@nod.at>
Date: 2012-01-21 00:36:07

Hi!

These two patches merge ipt_LOG and ip6t_LOG.

I'm not really happy with the iptables patch.
As it depends on xt_log.h iptables will not compile with old
kernel headers.
Any idea how to deal with this?

[PATCH] Netfilter: Merge ipt_LOG and ip6_LOG into xt_LOG
[PATCH] iptables: Merge libip6t_LOG and libipt_LOG into libxt_LOG

Thanks,

[PATCH] iptables: Merge libip6t_LOG and libipt_LOG into libxt_LOG

From: Richard Weinberger <richard@nod.at>
Date: 2012-01-21 00:35:35

libip6t_LOG and libipt_LOG share a lot of common code, merge them
to recude duplicate code.

+Turn on kernel logging of matching packets. When this option is set
+for a rule, the Linux kernel will print some information on all
+matching packets (like most IP header fields) via the kernel log
+(where it can be read with
+.I dmesg
+or
+.IR syslogd (8)).
+This is a "non-terminating target", i.e. rule traversal continues at
+the next rule. So if you want to LOG the packets you refuse, use two
+separate rules with the same matching criteria, first using target LOG
+then DROP (or REJECT).

[PATCH] Netfilter: Merge ipt_LOG and ip6_LOG into xt_LOG

From: Richard Weinberger <richard@nod.at>
Date: 2012-01-21 00:36:12

ipt_LOG and ip6_LOG have a lot of common code, merge them
to reduce duplicate code.

Re: Merge ipt_LOG and ip6t_LOG

Hi!

These two patches merge ipt_LOG and ip6t_LOG.

I'm not really happy with the iptables patch.
As it depends on xt_log.h iptables will not compile with old
kernel headers.
Any idea how to deal with this?
iptables always has its own copy of the header set, so there is not
going to be a problem.

[PATCH v2] iptables: Merge libip6t_LOG and libipt_LOG into libxt_LOG

From: Richard Weinberger <richard@nod.at>
Date: 2012-01-21 16:01:22

Changes since v1:
 - added include/linux/netfilter/xt_LOG.h

libip6t_LOG and libipt_LOG share a lot of common code, merge them
to recude duplicate code.
