Node for NAND Flash in Linux 2.6.23 kernel device tree(Powerpc)??

Hi, We are planning to interface nand flash with our host processor(MPC8641D). We are using the linux kernel version 2.6.23-rc4. Do we have to create a node for Nand Flash in the device tree? Please advice if we have to create node for Nand flash in the device tree.
