Any guiding document for porting kernel?

From: Srini Amble <hidden>

Is there any document available on the net to serve as a guiding
instrument for porting kernel under ELDK to platforms other than the
ones supported by ELDK? Any pointers is very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Srini

RTLinux patch for linuxppc_2_4_devel

From: Prakash kanthi <hidden>

Hi Folks,

Does anybody have a patch for linuxppc_2_4_devel? I
have the features i need in linuxppc_2_4_devel and
rtlinux (3.x).

I downloaded the rtlinux patch from denx. But looks
like it is for linux-2.4.4. Any idea how hard it is to
port it myself?

Thanks,
Prakash

User mode accesses cause a SIGSEGV

From: Prakash kanthi <hidden>

Hi Folk,

I have a problem with user mode processes on my PPC405
based board with 16MB SDRAM. I am using busybox based
'init'. When linux boots, init tries to swapn 'sh'.
Shell starts ok but after that, any 'application'
started under 'sh' bails out with error
"User mode accesses cause a SIGSEGV for <some
address>"

The address it bails out is always same and generally
is a huge value (ex: 0x92612077).

I am suspecting that there might be something wrong
with user mode PTEs. I am not sure when PTEs are
created how they are privileged.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Prakash
