The X rpms in the updates directory at ftp.linuxppc.org were a bad move. I had reported that the first a set of test rpms wouldnt work in 16bit on RageII chips like in the beige G3 computers. The problem is worse in the set that was put into the updates directory. Now 16 and 24 will not work and 256 causes netscape to have the old 24bit bug where all the widgets lose their coloring. I noticed in the debian mailing list that there were some patches being floated around, maybe 3.3.5 needs to be recompiled with these?
What version 3.3.5 is this specifically? XFree86 3.3.5-1.6.0c? The initial updated XFree86 rpms were 3.3.5-1.6.0a, which have since been replaced. Also, what "updates" directory are you referring to? There are no XFree RPMS at ftp://ftp.linuxppc.org/linuxppc-1999/updates/ -Hollis ** Sent via the linuxppc-dev mail list. See http://lists.linuxppc.org/
