I have looked on the F-o-M for a supplier of 3-button mice. All I could
find were entries for installing/trouble shooting. Can anyone suggest a
3-button mouse (ADB). I am looking to spend ~$30. All I can find is
either 2-button mice, expensive 3-button mice, or 3-button USB mice.
Suggestions?

I have put up all my patches against 2.2.0p7 at:

These are diffs against the virgin 2.2.0-pre7.
This includes the changes to fix boot problems on my Utah box,
as well as the changes to get the PS/2 mouse working again.
I also did some restructuring of the PPC main configuration menu
so that Pmac questions are ignored if you aren't configuring for
a PowerMac. I also added a configuration option to set the default
kernel boot line, passed to the bootstrap code.
Note: I have had persistent problems with the cache test in the
NCR driver. It seems to work fine if I just ignore it, so I also
left it that way. I also had to "tone down" the driver a lot,
the default of WIDE+20Mhz just doesn't cut it on my drives :-)

I'm looking for a place where I could order one or two 3 button mice. My
problem is that I want mice that currently cause trouble with Linux (in
order to fix them of course ;-). I'm looking for a MacX compatible one,
and eventually one of those that needs mousehack to work but I don't know
where to find them since those people don't usually put the kind of
protocol used by their mice on the web page...
So if someone could give me a set (model,place_to_buy,protocol_used) I
would be grateful !

The latest changes for 2-to-4-button mice on vger in
drivers/macintosh/mac_keyb.c (rev 1.24) break the emulation of button 3
on my 1-button Apple adb mouse.
This happens both in Xpmac, where option_right+click is hard-coded to
button 3, and in XF68_FBDev, where I use a patch by Franz Sirl for the
adb_buttons kernel command to get the same effect.
The reason seems to be that in rev 1.24 option_right gets mapped to
option_left even in raw mode (same for ctrl, BTW). I don't understand
this from the code, which is too complicated for me, anyway, but from
looking at the effect, as witnessed by xev in Xpmac, for example.
For the moment, I went back to rev 1.23 which doesn't have this problem.

I'm using a A/3 optical mouse from Mouse Systems
http://www.mousesystems.com/dld.htm
Unfortunatly they discontinue the optical mouse but they have a 3-button ball
mouse called MacPoint Pro which should be MacX compatible.
I'm not sure but as far as I know they use the MouseSystems-protocoll.

Hi Everybody
I downloaded this stuff, merged it in and tried it. Everything worked
fine except the serial console connections are not showing the
bootloader information that was introduced with Cort's serial
console changes. I don't yet know why as I am suddenly swamped
with work but I will track it down in the next few days if nobody else
does. Othwise this looks really great.
I really like the configuration changes Gary mode for the command
line stuff and being able to configure the mouse to force initialization.
