Linux RAID partitions go missing from /dev, but fdisk can see them

Hi all, I have the same problem as Tor Arne Vestbø in the following thread: http://kerneltrap.org/mailarchive/linux-raid/2008/11/28/4254784/thread Unfortunately, no one has updated the thread with any resolution to the problem.
