Dear Linux media development mailing list,
I recently bought a Logitech streamcam and it is nothing but a pain on linux and windows. Seems to have a problem with USB-C ports of a lot of motherboards... It is advertised as FULLHD and 60 fps, but I can't get past 720p and 50 fps on Windows 10 and I get problems on guvcview under Ubuntu 20.04 the program freezes or the camera becomes unavailable when I go above 720p or above 30 fps.
It was recommended to send you the output of "$ lsusb -v -d 046d:0893" to you in this post:
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1258014/making-1080p-webcam-running-at-60-fps-using-uvc-1-5
Since the streamcam is not listed under your supported devices the info I collected might be useful. Although I have the feeling the camera has bugged firmware...
I have attached the output of:
$ lsusb -v -d 046d:0893 > STREAM_CAM_lsusb_OUTPUT.txt
$ v4l2-ctl --list-formats-ext > STREAM_CAM_v4l2-ctl_list-formats-ext_OUTPUT.txt
... and the dmesg.log from using guvcview (Logitech_STREAM_CAM_dmesg.log)
I hope this is in a way useful for the linux community and maybe help getting this camera to work more reliably.
If you need additional info I am happy to help.
Kind regards,
Markus
