[PATCH] input: Convert timers to use timer_setup()
From: Kees Cook <hidden>
Date: 2017-10-05 00:53:26
Also in:
linux-media, lkml
Subsystem:
input (keyboard, mouse, joystick, touchscreen) drivers, media input infrastructure (v4l/dvb), the rest · Maintainers:
Dmitry Torokhov, Mauro Carvalho Chehab, Linus Torvalds
In preparation for unconditionally passing the struct timer_list pointer to
all timer callbacks, switch to using the new timer_setup() and from_timer()
to pass the timer pointer explicitly.
One input_dev user hijacks the input_dev software autorepeat timer to
perform its own repeat management. However, there is not path back
to the existing status variable, so add a generic one to the input
structure and use that instead.

This requires commit 686fef928bba ("timer: Prepare to change timer
callback argument type") in v4.14-rc3, but should be otherwise
stand-alone.
