[PATCH v5 21/27] x86/cet/shstk: Introduce WRUSS instruction

From: Yu-cheng Yu <hidden>
Date: 2018-10-11 15:23:20
Also in: linux-api, linux-arch, linux-mm, lkml
Subsystem: the rest, x86 architecture (32-bit and 64-bit), x86 mm · Maintainers: Linus Torvalds, Thomas Gleixner, Ingo Molnar, Borislav Petkov, Dave Hansen, Andy Lutomirski, Peter Zijlstra

WRUSS is a new kernel-mode instruction but writes directly to user
shadow stack memory. This is used to construct a return address on
the shadow stack for the signal handler.

This instruction can fault if the user shadow stack is invalid shadow
stack memory. In that case, the kernel does a fixup.
