HP Turion ACPI trouble

Hi. I just got a Turion laptop, an HP nx6125. Unfortunately it seems to
require some tweaking to work properly with linux. One thing, which
seems to be ACPI related, is that most of the time the fan gets "stuck"
on whatever speed it had just before the kernel is loaded, so I can
either get a system with no cooling at all (so I can only run for a few
minutes before I have to reboot), or the fan can run at full speed the
whole time which is quite annoying.

It has happened a few times that the fan control has worked properly,
but I don't think that I did anything significantly different from the
other times. I'm not sure what information you need to fix this so I
didn't include much, but I'll try my best to provide anything you need.

Thank you in advance,

Johan
