PROBLEM: Executing /sbin/hwclock hangs 2.4.21-rc[12] with ACPI snapshot patches

Please add to the above mentioned thread - sorry I only got the thread
from the archive...

I like to add the following:
 The probem started with the acpi-patch for kernel 2.4.21-rc1. It is not a
kernel problem...
I compiled several acpi-patched versions of the kernel 2.4.21-rc3 starting
with the acpi-patch for -pre6, which does not show the problem. So it was
introduced with acpi-20030424-2.4.21-rc1.diff.gz

So we should search, what has changed for the -rc1-acpi release.

BTW.: My system is a acer TM 634, with Ali-chipset for an p4-mobile.
