Are there windows specific stuffs for ACPI in BIOS?

   I have the impression that some BIOS has some
windows specific stuff for ACPI support for windows. 
Is it true? If it is true,  those system will not
support ACPI well for linux except that linux  has the
workarounds for the windows specific stuff.
