battery status on Compaq Evo N800v

Hi,

I have a new laptop Compaq Evo N800v.
It is a ACPI-only computer. I tried to follow all the directions about 
kernel patching/recompiling in order to have ACPI work properly. 
Unfortunately, I can't see my battery: for my kernel it simply doesn't 
exists (I tried several kernels, from 2.4.20 going up to 2.5.60). I can 
send you more info if you need.

I've seen a recent post on that and it seems that Hilbert Barelds
doesn't have the same problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.
