Heap allocation error in git-1.6.2.4 on Cygwin. Problem not present in git-1.6.1.2

Hi.

I've just upgraded GIT on Cygwin from git-1.6.1.2 to git-1.6.2.4.

I'm getting a crash ...

21 [main] git 4620 C:\Cygwin\bin\git.exe: *** fatal error - couldn't
allocate heap, Win32 error 487, base 0x990000, top 0xA10000,
reserve_size 520192, allocsize 524288, page_const 4096

When I kill git.exe, I get ...

17 [unknown (0x1048)] GIT 1824 fork: child -1 - died waiting for
longjmp before initialization, retry 0, exit code 0x1, errno 11

Reverting back to git-1.6.1.2 and the problem does not exist.

Happy to help if given some direction.

Regards,

Richard Quadling.

you would be better off posting this on the cygwin list; I've read of
some git problems there.
