How to get the number of used descriptors for vHost-users

Hi all

Is there a function -like rte_eth_rx_queue_count()- to get the number of used (or free) descriptors in a vHost RX/TX's queue? I used rte_vhost_avail_entries() but I'm not sure it is correct way.
